Description
Celebrating Earth Day with your class? This free Earth Day Adapted Book mixes a little Earth Day fun with counting practice, using ten frames filled with tiny earths.
What’s Included in the Earth Day Adapted Book
- Ten frame counting pages for the numbers one to ten
- The number word on every page
- A “Numbers everywhere!” review page at the end
- Answer pieces with the numeral and number word
- A printable cover for the book
Ways to Use Your Earth Day Adapted Book
Read it together in small group, add it to independent work, or use it during 1:1 time in April. Students count the earths in each ten frame, read the number word, and add the matching piece.
Why Ten Frames Work
Ten frames help students see numbers in an organized way, so they start to recognize five and ten without counting every single one. Pairing the ten frame with the number word on each page gives students one more connection. I like to point to each earth as we count together the first time through.
Why Teachers Love It
- Seasonal: perfect for Earth Day and April.
- Ten frame practice: a strong visual for number sense.
- Hands-on: students add a piece on every page.
- Reusable: laminate once and use it every spring.
