Holiday Inspired Blog Posts for Special Education

Sharing is caring!

Finally! We are getting to the holiday season! So like you, I am trying to rack my brain to come up with things we can do that are fun, educational, and better then the same old things we do every day! Here is a roundup of holiday inspired blog posts that I have found from other amazing special education bloggers!

Holiday Inspired Instruction!

If you are anything like me just because the holidays are coming it doesn’t mean that we stop teaching! Moreover, most of our students don’t like change which makes it additionally hard. Instead of adding tons of super fun but, also overstimulating activities to your day try incorporating materials that still have an instructional purpose!

I love these materials for learning about different holidays around the world! Learn about countries for social studies content that can sometimes be hard to fit in all year long!

Crafts for the Holidays!

Next, I am not a super crafty person. I don’t really have the time to prep and prepare lots of crafts in my classroom but, to my defense I work with older students in middle school. When we do crafts I save it for this time of the year! These two posts are great for incorporating not only holiday inspired crafts but fine motor skills!

Holiday Inspired Work Tasks!

Most importantly, you know I love a good set of work tasks in my classroom. If you don’t know about that obsession of mine you could read the series of blog posts about that here.  Similarly, for holiday based ones, check out these two links below that are fun and engaging!

Holiday Inspired Snacks!

Making snacks in the classroom are always popular because, who doesn’t love food? I found this snack you could have your students make or you could use it to spread holiday cheer out to your building by sharing with other students and staff!
